Rehabilitation Counseling at UMB |

The Rehabilitation Counseling Program at UMB has a traineeship
grant from the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services
(OSERS), U.S. Department of Education. This grant allows the Rehabilitation
Counseling Program to provide tuition, fees, and a stipend to eligible
students in the Rehabilitation Counseling program. Recipients of the
traineeship grant must sign an agreement to work a specified number
of years in a state vocational rehabilitation program or a non profit
rehabilitation agency/facility that receives funding from a state
vocational rehabilitation system in return for the funding. Dr. Rick Houser Coordinator of the Rehabilitation Counseling Program (rick.houser@umb.edu)
A limited number of graduate assistantships are available
at the Department of Counseling & School Psychology. These assistantships
include both a tuition waiver and stipend. Graduate Assistants assist
professors in research or administration related activities. They
usually work an average of 10 hours a week. Information on other forms of financial assistance may be available through the Office of the University Registrar's Scholarship or Financial Information at UMB.
