The Rehabilitatition Counseling Program will recommend admission for applicants who present evidence of their ability to complete a graduate course of studies with distinction. Such evidence will normally include:

  • A minimum of five courses in psychology or the equivalent.
  • A distinguished undergraduate transcript with at least a 3.0 cumulative average.
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) aptitude scores or a score on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT).
    Note: A test score is not required if the applicant holds an advanced degree from an American university in the social sciences or a related discipline. An applicant who holds an advanced degree in a discipline unrelated to social sciences, or who has received only pass-fail grades in graduate study, must also provide scores from either the GRE aptitude test or the MAT.
  • An interview with members of the program's faculty.

A maximum of 6 credit hours of graduate work in counseling can be transferred into the Rehabilitation Counseling Program with the approval of the program director.
